Program Design
Through research and collaboration with other organizations serving survivors of human trafficking, we identified a significant gap in support services. Programs like The Worthy Ranch, which uniquely combine equine therapy, life coaching, and job development skills, are rare. Additionally, we found that not only do survivors need specialized care, but the organizations and families supporting them also require assistance and respite.
Our 12-Week Summer Immersion “Empower” Program is designed to address this dual need. It focuses on women and their families who are already enrolled in long-term aftercare or safe house programs. By working intensively with small groups of 8-10 participants over ninety days, we can provide the personalized attention and support that research indicates are crucial for trauma recovery. Small group settings allow for a more impactful healing experience, fostering trust and deep connections.
Furthermore, our program offers much-needed respite and professional development opportunities for the staff of long-term aftercare programs. These caregivers work tirelessly, often facing burnout due to the emotional and physical demands of providing 24/7 support. By giving them a break and opportunities for growth, we ensure they are better equipped to continue their essential, long-term work with survivors, addressing a critical need that is often overlooked in the field.
Alumni Retreat
Research shows that survivors heal more effectively when they are together. That's why we created the Alumni Retreat, which overlaps with our 90-day summer program.
This week-long retreat at The Worthy Ranch is for survivors who have completed our program and wish to reconnect with their sisterhood. They can share success stories, learn new healing modalities, and continue their journey together.
The retreat is timed to coincide with the final day of the 90-day program, allowing alumni to inspire and encourage the new graduates, fostering a powerful sense of hope and community.
